Introduction to Assignment¶
The Assignment function is a powerful tool designed to enhance the teaching and learning experience within our platform. It offers a seamless workflow for both educators and students, enabling efficient assignment creation, submission tracking, and feedback management. Here’s an overview of how this function works for both lecturers and students:
For Lecturers¶
Creating Assignments¶
In the workspace, lecturers can navigate to the ‘Assignment’ tab and select ‘Create Assignment.’ They can input the assignment’s name and description, providing clear instructions for students. Set the maximum score for the assignment to establish grading criteria. Assign the task either to predefined groups (known as ‘my groups’) or individual students. Specify the due date for the assignment to ensure timely submissions.
For Students¶
Receiving Assignments¶
Once an assignment is assigned to students, they will receive a notification. Students can access the assignment by clicking on the notification or going to the workspace and selecting the ‘Assignment’ section.
Creating 3D, 360 Lessons¶
Within the assignment interface, students can review the assignment details and instructions. They will find a ‘Create Lesson’ button, allowing them to build immersive 3D, 360-degree lessons related to the assignment. The name and category of the lesson are automatically set to streamline the process.
Lesson Creation¶
Students can select an asset and begin creating their lesson. Upon completing the lesson, students are redirected to the assignment page.
Submission¶
Students have the option to either ‘edit’ their assignment or ‘submit’ it when they are ready.
For Lecturers (Review and Grading)¶
Reviewing Submissions¶
Teachers can access the assignment by going to the workspace, selecting ‘Assignment,’ and clicking on the assignment they created. They will see a summary of all users in the assigned group, including who has submitted their assignments.
Assessing Student Work¶
For students who have submitted their work, teachers can view a summary and access their lessons. After reviewing a student’s work, teachers can assign a grade or provide feedback.
This Assignment function streamlines the entire assignment process, from creation and distribution to submission and grading. It fosters a collaborative learning environment and enables students to create engaging 3D, 360-degree lessons to showcase their understanding of the material. Additionally, it simplifies the administrative tasks for educators, making assignment management efficient and effective.
Please note that some features mentioned as “not yet implemented” may be added in future updates to further enhance the functionality of the Assignment tool.
